Welcome to Woman’s Hour: The TERF Report. In this episode, I follow up on last week’s episode regarding an October 9 New York Times article titled “Trump and Republicans Bet Big on Anti-Trans Ads Across the Country,” and subtitled, “Republicans have spent tens of millions of dollars on the ads, part of an attempt to help them win over suburban female voters.”
The episode includes some commentary about how the Democratic political chattering class is completely out of touch with ordinary voters and a possibly significant development in the Texas Senate race.
Weekly episodes of Woman’s Hour are available to paid subscribers only. Once per month, I publish a free and shareable episode of Woman’s Hour featuring an interview with a woman who is active in the fight. If you are not already a paid subscriber and would like access to content that delves deeper into the movement to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls and to stop the abolition of sex, please consider becoming one today.
After this piece was recorded, I came across an article by Jonathan Chait from yesterday in New York Magazine titled “How Progressive Overreach Gave Trump His Favorite Attack Ad.” I don’t agree with everything he says in it, but his point is that groups like the ACLU essentially hand Republicans ads like these by refusing to acknowledge that the general public is not on board with trans insanity. With that, I heartily agree. Chait seems to be urging groups like the ACLU to tone it down when it comes to advocating for “gender identity.” I’m not sure he realizes that the ACLU cannot do that because once a single card is removed, the entire house comes crumbling down.
Cheers, and have a great weekend.
