The Supreme Court Rules in Support of Maine Representative Libby

May 23, 2025

Welcome to Woman’s Hour: The TERF Report.

In today’s episode, I talk about Maine Representative Laurel Libby, who on Tuesday won a victory before the US Supreme Court, when the Court reinstated her right to vote in the Maine legislature. The Court’s opinion is here.

I celebrated Representative Libby in an issue of FFS Friday in February, after she spoke out about male athletes competing in girls’ sports in Maine. It was her speaking out that initiated the series of events resulting in this Supreme Court win.

Before getting into that topic, I mention the fact that last Sunday, Smith College awarded an honorary degree to Mr. Richard (“Rachel”) Levine. A group of women protested, and they were met with a very entertaining counter-protestor, who went on an extended and very amusing rant while wearing a Transformers t-shirt.

Weekly episodes of Woman’s Hour are available to paid subscribers only. Once per month, I publish a free and shareable episode of Woman’s Hour, featuring an interview with a woman who is active in the fight. A paid subscription gets you regular access to much more content and the ability to comment and engage in discussion with other thoughtful people.

Have a great weekend!
