Welcome to Woman’s Hour: The TERF Report.
In today’s episode I talk about a controversy concerning a TV show in the UK called “I Kissed a Boy,” a reality dating show about gay men. The BBC also has a show called “I Kissed a Girl,” which is a reality dating show about lesbians.
In this year’s season of “I Kissed a Boy,” the BBC cast a woman who calls herself a gay man in the show. It has caused quite a stir. After addressing that, I’ll move on to talking about the normalization of sex-denialism in pop culture more generally.
Here are links to some of the references I make in the episode:
Lars Fellow’s post about being a “gay trans man”
Lars’s Instagram
Mr. Menno’s video about the situation
Gareth Roberts in the Spectator
The LGB Alliance statement
An X post about gay conversion therapy
Lachlan Watson on being “non-binary”
Jessica Jones’s “trans woman” assistant
“Mindy”
