I don’t for a second believe that a kid called and asked him to cancel. He got cold feet.

Right? “I got your number from my mom.”

Oh, sure, as if the most on-line generation that ever existed had to get someone's contact deets from their mom.

Too bad APS lacks the guts to call their bluff and hold the event anyway. You can't reward power-trip tactics like this.

His cowardice would be laughable if it weren't for the fact that he is community representative with power to effect change in local government. He controls respources entrusted to him by voters but isn't sufficiently self aware or critical thinking to realise he has been captured by the trans lobby and has become their tool.

Where will people like Horn go when the trans house of cards collapses? To keep his finger in the pie he has no alternative other than to keep the breezes away from the teetering card house.

Unfortunately this is no different than the censoring of debate re Covid, Climate, Abortion, School Choice, Immigration, etc. Adults afraid of debate when agenda could be exposed. Ever wonder why there was no foreign policy debate before last Presidential Election? Gone are debate clubs, replaced by Activists who censor and intimidate. Ram the agenda down our throat. At least we have Substack!

It’s quite a cowardly position to say that debating someone gives credibility to them or their position. Hasn’t debate been a respected way to explore issues and resolve conflicts for thousands of years?

Have we now supposedly evolved to a point where debate is no longer necessary, because some people are so pure and virtuous that they know the ultimate truth about everything?

Where have we heard that before? Tell me you’re thinking about Rome without telling me you’re thinking about Rome.

I think WDI should host a debate on this topic. In fact, I have wondered for a long time why we are waiting on GI ideologues and TRAs in order to proceed. An effective debater doesn’t have to believe in the position they take - one just has to fairly, accurately, and robustly give arguments. Helen Joyce could summarize their arguments and present them in a far more cogent manner than they could themselves, and yet the inanity, circularity, and stupidity would be obvious. A second debate could be based on feedback answering the question - “Tell us what we got wrong in how we represented your POV and we will rebut.” Let’s give clear voice to the pro-trans arguments, and then knock those pins down.

They know that "we should be castrating more men" or "18 isn't too young for a double mastectomy" aren't convincing arguments.
