Before I opened your Substack this morning, I was literally telling my husband how there are a few males among your seemingly mostly female readers who appear to be there to supervise the clueless females and tell them how to vote. These types lose their lunch when a woman tells them she doesn't want or need their supervision. I've watched a few get hysterical when I let them know my competence did not need supervising. Good riddance to Manuel.
I know, and I'm sorry. They put my livelihood, and all of our well-being, at risk when they do that. But, both Mark and Manuel are not gone. As you say, good riddance!
It’s okay, since a navy career in a certain field helped to make me confrontational, which I’m sure you’ve noticed. I channel that with the above types. I have much practice.
There are a few others I can think of but they will remain nameless. Don’t want to give them the satisfaction of saying their names as they aren’t important enough.

It would not surprise me if there was some sort of link between your account being stolen and this “wank stain” working to get your alternate account suspended. I don’t believe in coincidences. I hope you are successful in getting your accounts back.

I can only theorize that he pretended to be a "sex realist," bided his time and actually paid to be able to both harm you personally and keep your views from being heard. Should be a warning to other like-minded Substackers who rely on paid subscribers. Don't be hesitant about blocking and unsubscribing someone who acts suspiciously and when asked does not prove good faith, even if it means giving up $7 a month.
Another theory--he also could have really been a "sex realist" raging against gender ideology who had a mental health/paranoid breakdown that led him to try to make himself feel important or valid. Maybe you pissed him off in some way. Some of the "heterodox" men whose shoulders we TERFs rub seem a bit unbalanced and sometimes in great emotional pain. Some of the TERF-style feminist critiques of our culture overlap with theirs, but they certainly aren't coming from the same age-old feminist place of ending the oppression of women and girls. (Of course, there are wonderful, women-supporting men who DO come from the same place and are truly "pro-feminist" as we used to say in the olden days.) As you know so well, these heterodox men often blame feminists for all this shit. I don't believe this is your position Kara, but I do take their point, albeit in a narrow way--I believe SOME aspects of feminism in how it has moved in the culture HAVE contributed to the clusterfrick of the current moment. That is my "lived experience" as an American woman who came of age in the 1970s and embraced feminist ideas when still a child. This opinion does not lead me to disavow feminism, but it has been personally important for me to grapple with, both emotionally and intellectually. So I have listened to these men and tried to absorb what I needed to hear while rejecting the inherent misogyny. Besides that, I do have some compassion for them, but their problems are not mine and I don't trust them. I have come to think it's wise to keep my distance.

I made the mistake of clicking and then presto, my account was gone. I'm told this is "phishing," something I don't really understand (I'm a lawyer, not a tech bro!). You mentioned (IIRC) that the e-mail address you had for your X acct was hacked. That kind of thing happened to me, too I think. I set up a separate X account on my phone cuz I couldn't remember my password when I was away from my laptop. While using X on my phone, I got several pop-up questions asking "Is this your e-mail?" It wasn't, but I ignored them, not knowing who was asking. Then one day, my account was suspended suddenly. I have never been able to recover it. I can still use the account on my laptop, fortunately. But when I saw that you thought your e-mail address was hacked or something, it made me wonder if you're ever going to get your original account back either. I've heard now about this happening to several other people who haven't been able to get back in to their accounts, too.
Also, that guy the other day -- wouldn't be surprised if he was a TRA spy who started all this with your account.

They're getting desperate. Even my little Facebook account that had soured in popularity from two to four digit 'likes' after I posted content on the Sall v. Dickle case, was suspended for a month beyond read-only, after my fourth post. And of course Sall's Facebook account was suspended, requiring intervention from a senator for it to be reinstated. She had gained 25,000 new followers on that page by the time they shut it down. Hopefully this is their death throes, direct bullying and sabotage of the strong women saying NO. Same old weak-male crap.
How awful that this continues to occur. It’s frustrating that these creeps are able to cause so much chaos. I recently put myself back in protected tweet jail because I have an X stalker that I cannot get rid of—for more than two years now. As soon as I block him, he creates a new account & bides his time & then it is the same vitriol & nonsense. It’s creepy & even if I report each account to X for harassment, X says there’s nothing wrong. It’s exhausting. So I will take another break and hopefully my stalker will find a new hobby. I’m not sure how you fix this.
