TERF battles on X

Last Monday, I was locked out of my main X account (@KDansky) due to a phishing attack.
Thanks to some very lovely terven all over the world, I managed to be put in touch with some guy in the UK who was happy to help me get back in. They all vouched for him, so I took a chance. He has been a lifesaver.
To do that, I had to create a new account and follow and DM him, which I did. The new account is @OselLhamo. He and I communicated via X DM throughout much of the day on Tuesday. He was able to change the password on the account, which is great, but whoever hacked it changed the email address associated with the account. I need X to get that fixed. He says it might take a few weeks for that to happen.
At first, I had no intention of using my new account for any actual engagement. For several days, I only used it to monitor X. I followed the usual TERFs so I could stay informed, but I told very few people that the account was me, and I didn’t ask anyone to follow me.
But on Friday morning, I decided to go public with it. I wrote a long thread about it, which was very carefully worded, and posted. I sent the thread to several trusted friends, via email, WhatsApp, and DMs. Several TERFs shared and amplified it, trusting that it was me. They had no reason not to. They had received my message through trusted platforms and communicated with me directly. These are women who know me. Most of us have met in real life, and those of us who haven’t have communicated either via Zoom or phone, or both.
For several hours after that, I was away from my laptop and on my phone. I did my best to keep up with everything and at first, it was fun! More and more TERFs became aware of the account and engaged to say hello. But then things got weird (I’ll explain).
Several reached out to verify that it was me before posting. Fair enough! Better safe than sorry! They did this using a variety of methods. Emma Hilton (a TERF and evolutionary biologist in the UK) asked me to DM her something that only she and I would know, and I did.
This is what I said to Emma via X DM, in response to her post “DM me something only you and I would know”:
You’re cited in a concurring opinion in the 2022 US case of Adams v. St, John’s County. The judge who authored the opinion is Judge Lagoa. I brought this to your attention shortly after the opinion and tagged you in a post about it.
That’s all completely true, and I typed it all out from memory, within seconds of seeing her request.
Honestly, how many people on the face of the planet would be able to do that?! Emma knows that I’m probably the only person who could just rattle that off in seconds, with first-hand knowledge and no research.
For the record, here’s the citation:
Emma N. Hilton & Tommy R. Lundberg, Transgender Women in The Female Category of Sport: Perspectives on Testosterone Suppression and Performance Advantage, 51 Sports Medicine 200–01 (2021).
Here’s the 2022 opinion in which you can find it. It’s on page 5 of Judge Lagoa’s concurring opinion (page 55 of the 150-page pdf), if you don’t believe me.
I had to do a little searching to come up with all of those references while writing this post, but I didn’t need to do any searching at all to respond to Emma’s request for a DM, within seconds of seeing said request. I just typed that out from memory.
That was good enough for her, and she immediately vouched for me.
A few others texted me. One leader of WDI USA reached out via Facebook DM. Every time, I was able to provide some tidbit of information that persuaded the terven that the account was real. Several well-known TERFs posted on X that it was actually me.
In other words, many women knew immediately that the account was mine because I communicated that fact to them via trusted platforms. These women know that I am me. Many know my email address. Many know my WhatsApp contact info. Those who initially didn’t quite trust that it was me did their research to make sure before posting. I appreciate their due diligence.
Within a few short hours, I had several hundred followers. I was having a blast on a Friday during the lunch hour.
But then things went wonky. And I was still only on my phone, with no access to my laptop.
One person, who subscribes to this Substack, just assumed that the account was fake.
He is @ManuelBruder71 on X. This is that account’s X bio:
Give me a check list to determine “woman” gender.
If you can’t define gender, it doesn’t exist.
He purports to be a sex realist. He has subscribed to my Substack for several years. If memory serves, he and I have communicated via DM on X, but I could be wrong about that. I cannot access my @KDansky account to check, and have no specific recollection.
I have no idea who this person is in real life.
On every post about my thread, he commented urging extreme caution, warning people that my account might be fake. On every response to my thread, he made similar comments. Every time he did so, I replied to say that the account was not fake. I followed him and sent him several DMs asking him to stop, all of which he ignored.
Here are some examples of my replies to him (which he later denied I posted):
The “Thank you” messages from me are all to women who either trusted me from the start or verified with me in good faith. The others are to him, asking him to check replies and his DMs. He either didn’t, or ignored me completely.
Still assuming good faith, I sent him DMs like this:
I was attempting there to demonstrate that the account was not an imposter account. He is a paid subscriber to my account. He knows that everything I said was true. He just ignored me on X.
He kept insisting that if the account was really me, I would have put the information on Substack, which I hadn’t done.
He repeatedly said some version of this:
As though he’s in my head? As though he knows anything about my Substack posting strategy? As though he has some sort of control over what I say on Substack and when?
Several women told him that they had verified that it was me, and he persistently refused to believe them. All of them. One friend told me he was essentially saying that he couldn’t be bothered to read my DMs.
To be clear, caution is always warranted. That very well could have been a fake account. However, when multiple people have told you that it’s real, and the account owner DMs you to tell you that it’s real and gives you evidence of who she is, it’s time to back off.
He didn’t. It became relentless.
He noted, accurately, that I had not included it in that morning’s FFS Friday. There was a very good reason I did not include it in FFS Friday, though, which is that FFS Friday posts follow a consistent format. Every week, the post includes some introductory notes, a quick statement about who it’s about, a photo, and a pull-quote. I do not include additional news items, and I don’t make those posts about myself. Those posts are about the women, all over the world, who are speaking up about the importance of protecting women’s sex-based rights. It would have been totally inappropriate for me to use that opportunity to talk about my own X account.
In addition, I do my best to limit Friday Substack posts to FFS Friday and Woman’s Hour. FFS Friday posts go up at 10:00 a.m. my time, and Woman’s Hour episodes go up at 3:00 p.m. my time. That has been consistent since I launched The TERF Report in 2024. Except in extremely unusual circumstances, I don’t post anything else on Fridays. I think I have only done it once or so. I had every intention of explaining all of this in a post on Saturday morning.
When I got back to my laptop, I immediately added a link to my Substack in my new X account’s bio. I started to work on this post. And then, suddenly, I had been suspended from X. I couldn’t post. I couldn’t do anything.
I told some friends and some things like this happened:
He was calling for me to be mass reported. He got me suspended.
He was factually wrong that “no one” had verified the account. As mentioned, several TERFs had already verified it by then. They did this by asking me using trusted platforms and pointed questions. Good for them!
Because Manuel subscribes subscribes to my Substack, I messaged him here to tell him that it was in fact me and that he had succeeded in getting me suspended. I sent the messages at 1:47 p.m. Eastern time on Friday.
By the time of publication, he has not responded.
He continued to post throughout the day that if it were really me, I would have posted about it on Substack:
I have no idea why this man, whom I have never met, thinks that any of this is appropriate. It’s factually not true that if it were me I would have posted about it on Substack before the Friday morning thread. That’s not necessarily how I roll. And how I roll is not for him to control.
I have submitted an appeal to X to get the account back. This is in addition to my ongoing fight with X to regain access to my @KDansky account.
This took up my entire Friday. And getting my accounts back is going to suck up many more hours in the coming days and weeks.
To Manuel: The friend who is helping me work with X to get my accounts back just referred to you as a “wank stain” in an email message. That’s very British, which is appropriate, because he is. He prefers to remain anonymous. I am going to hit send on this post while you are still a subscriber so that it lands in your inbox, and then I am going to ban you. If I ever get back on X using either of my accounts, I am going to block you. Women have enough to deal with; we don’t need this sh*t.
Onward.
P.S. I have this lovely message through my website:
Subject: No one knows if you’re safe
Send up the terven flag if you need more help!!
I am safe! A bit worn, but doing okay.
She even included her phone number, which I am not posting here for obvious reasons. The TERFs are awesome.
P.P.S. As of a few minutes ago, I have been invited to join some Australian TERFs at @DollhouseInOz. Feel free to check them out!
Bye, Manuel!

Why some men feel entitled to micromanage women is beyond me.
Dude, women brought you and all men like you into this world and kept you alive to adulthood, without your help AT ALL. Wind in your tiny little dick.
Before I opened your Substack this morning, I was literally telling my husband how there are a few males among your seemingly mostly female readers who appear to be there to supervise the clueless females and tell them how to vote. These types lose their lunch when a woman tells them she doesn't want or need their supervision. I've watched a few get hysterical when I let them know my competence did not need supervising. Good riddance to Manuel.
