The Daily Wire really doesn't like women. They think we are the extensions of men. Matt Walsh's documentary was good, glad it may have peaked some people, but I'm not surprised he wants to take, and DW wants to give him, credit for something feminists/women have been doing for years. It's all so demoralizing. While women are kicked off Twitter, Facebook, Medium, etc. etc. (including me) for trying to bring attention to this issue, these guys charge in like the proverbial knight in shining armour rescuing the damsel in distress. The problem is that damsel in distress has already been fighting tooth and nail for years, decades even, against the male supremacy and misogyny of trans ideology, never mind patriarchy itself. it's incredibly infuriating and demoralizing to be sidelined instead of shown the proper respect for the battles we've been fighting. Of course, it's all to be expected in this culture.
Right, on, Kara. I lose my mind every time I hear someone (breaks my heart if it’s a woman) say, “wow, Matt Walsh speaks truth to power!” Like we aren’t already yelling out hearts out already.
There's been only two instances in my 62 years of life where a man in a traditionally male field gave credit to a woman. One was a surgeon I saw for evaluation, and he said he was referring me to another surgeon he knew well because she was much more skilled than him and she was the best in the field. I just stared at him in shock and pulled myself together to thank him. The other time was a neighbor, a Master Mechanic, who complimented some work I did on my van, telling me not one mechanic at his shop was able to finish that particular job and he always had to finish it for them. I am thankful for the contribution Walsh has done, being a great "front man" and getting the word out there on all the work done by the feminists, even though I know he will never give the feminists credit. It's an emotional issue with many men, just as dependency is emotionally attractive to many women. Many men (and women) have grown up to believe having large triceps and biceps makes one smarter and more rational than half the population. That must be an intoxicating thought. I also cringed at the stereotypical boy/girl stuff at the beginning of his film, but I let it pass as what really matters to me is the end goal and supporting you and anyone else fighting the Trans Empire. Tough times makes strange alliances and I have to take a mental break when Walsh or others spit out the word "feminists." I think I even understand where Whitlock is coming from, a frustration from helplessly watching the attacks on Kellie-Jay, Riley Gaines, JK Rowling and others. Thankfully, normal males do feel the need to use their testosterone to intervene when a pathological male (or female) becomes violent with a female. What he doesn't understand is this won't be won in a boxing ring, and women wield their thoughts, pens and voices just as well or better than men.
I appreciate very much your history of feminist writings and activism on trans going all the way back to Janice Raymond. But we don't have to "fast forward" very far to give credit to the mid-career writings of Sheila Jeffreys. Twenty years before "Gender Hurts" in 2014, she wrote "The Lesbian Heresy," 1993, which covers transgenderism (then referred to as transsexuality) in both women and men, and then "Unpacking Queer Politics," 2003, which goes into a great deal of depth on how transsexualism affected the lesbian community, particularly butch lesbians, including the influence of sado-masochism and queer theory in general. As always, Jeffreys' work is very well researched and cited.
And let's give a shout-out to one of the Great Mothers of modern feminist theory, Mary Daly. In her 1984 book, "Pure Lust," she discusses the "big lie" of transsexualism in relation to tennis player Renee Richards and cites her good friend, "Jan Raymond."
I am on Mumsnet and try to push back on the Matt Walsh fawning, sharing our US experience and my knowledge of conservative male pundits. It's an uphill battle and I've gotten my fair share of anger and have been accused of purity spirals. I'd like to share this about his stealing from Exulansic but am not sure how to do it while respecting your substack privacy policies and giving credit where credit is due. Maybe just use Exulansic's own words? Even KJK, as you note, is frustrated with Walsh.
