I sincerely and in all befuddlement can NOT wrap my head around the switch, in my lifetime, from Democratic women talking like this about women's rights to Republican women doing it against Democratic opposition.

I know that Democratic women of my era--the 1960s-70s-80s--carried the torch for Nancy Mace, so she could have her career at all, against the opposition of Republican women like Phyllis Schlafly.

But Mace has taken the torch and is RUNNING WITH IT.

Bless her heart! And wholehearted gratitude, in general, that this issue is helping to heal the decades-long, completely manufactured, unnecessary, and toxic war between the left and right.

United, we WILL win.

Terrific interview, and I want to underscore your lead-in, which was fascinating, about Janice Raymond and her book, The Transexual Empire. The interview itself prompted this thought, among others: Gillibrand fancies herself as the leader of the resistance. Should we not call upon her, en masse, to co-sponsor Mace’s bills?

Thanks for giving me a great idea for my next op ed (which no one will publish)!

Yes!

I finally went out and downloaded The Transsexual Empire today, after listening to The TERF Report.

I've known about it for years and simply never gotten around to reading it. But it's really the book we should all read first, to understand the history of what's happening to us today.

Two great women working together. I thank both of you for fighting the lunacy.

Rep Mace,

Congrats for taking a bold stand and for inviting participation of those on the other side.

For the record, when it comes to gender ideology I think there is a lot of agreement between Democrats and Republicans. Twenty million Democrats just refused to vote for the Democratic Party. That's a good first step. If elected Democrats refuse to cooperate in the reinstatement of women's sex-based rights, we'll have another round of firings in 2 years.

I'm working with a group that has written a federal bill to correct the wrong Democrats have done by reversing Title IX and destroying women's rights. We hope to get sponsors from both the Republican and Democratic members of Congress. We think we can offer elected politicians a broad-based coalition of Dem, Repub and independent voters.

We'd like to discuss our bill with you. We don't want to wait until Trump has signed a presidential signing statement because we have a much more comprehensive and sensible solution. We're happy to offer Trump the opportunity to have a long lasting legacy found it on sensible solutions and supported by this broad-based coalition across the country.
