But a legislative override is still possible
Aha! Future Presidential candidate Newsom is taking one (1) step back from the left-wing cliff edge! Excellent news. But he'll need to take a bunch more steps in order to be taken seriously by centrists.
Kara, this is a fascinating development. I know you can only speculate, but I'm wondering if you have any theories as to why Newsom took this unusually prudent step? I so do not trust this man.
The wind of public opinion apparently found sail area in Newsome's hair. This is probably a sign he's going to try and take down and replace Biden.
I had a feeling he would do this. He wants to run for President after Biden is out. He sees which way the wind is blowing on this issue. He’s also a father of four snd his wife was a victim of Harvey Weinstein.
I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him!
For all Californians, I have drafted a brief message to send to your representatives in the state Congress--it really helps, especially, for him to hear from members of his own Party:
We are writing to urge you to SUPPORT Governor Newsom's VETO of AB 957, which demands that the transgenderist political lobby be prioritized in cases of child custody.
Newsom is correct that inserting a single political lobby into judicial jurisprudence meant to be politically neutral would set a precedent for any legislative body to insert any political lobby into judicial jurisprudence meant to be politically neutral.
Please, as lifelong Democratic activists and deeply concerned Californians, we urge you to SUPPORT Newsom's VETO of AB 957.
