FFS (Female Free Speech) Friday honors women and girls who are speaking out about the harms that “gender identity” poses to women and girls as a sex class. FFS Friday posts are free and shareable. If you would like access to content that delves deeper into the movement to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls and to stop the abolition of sex, please consider a paid subscription.
In 2023, a 13-year-old girl in the UK, with the help of her mom (mum, for the Brits) launched a petition titled, “Ensure Single Sex Spaces in All Public Buildings, Including Schools.” This was after learning that her school had decided to make the bathrooms “gender neutral.”
This year, when she returned to school, she discovered that she had won. Today’s FFS Friday is for both of them.
I, a 13yr old girl, call upon our government and relevant authorities to implement a crucial measure that guarantees the presence of single sex spaces in every public building, including schools. This initiative aims to create safe and inclusive environments for all individuals by respecting their privacy, dignity, and personal boundaries.
After she launched her petition, the headteacher offered to meet with them. According to a report from mum, the headteacher was open to hearing their concerns.
The petition begins: “I, a 13yr old girl, call upon our government and relevant authorities to implement a crucial measure that guarantees the presence of single sex spaces in every public building, including schools. This initiative aims to create safe and inclusive environments for all individuals by respecting their privacy, dignity, and personal boundaries.”
It contains several well-articulated reasons why it is important to maintain single-sex bathrooms and similar facilities, especially in schools. They include: privacy and safety, protecting vulnerable individuals (including young girls and sexual assault survivors), respect for cultural norms, and academic performance.
It concludes: “By signing this petition, I, and my mum, urge policymakers at all levels to prioritize the implementation of regulations mandating single sex spaces in every public building across our nation – including schools – ensuring everyone's right to safety, dignity, and privacy is respected.”
When she returned to school this year, she discovered that the school had constructed newly-built walls between the male and female toilets.
This goes to show that teenage girls can make a big difference when they speak up in their schools. I hope more will find the courage to follow this brilliant girl’s example. Congratulations to WomenAreSayingNO and your daughter! Today’s FFS Friday is for you.
Wonderful ! This should encourage more to 'SAY NO !'.
This is a BIG deal! Bravo to this brave young lady. Her courage will have a ripple effect. I had Grand Mal seizures, losing consciousness in public, for 16 years starting at age 16 ( I cured myself and am fine now). I cannot imagine the horror of knowing I could lose consciousness in a public bathroom where men can enter. Don't forget disabled people in this conversation. It's not fair or safe. We are more vulnerable and 5 times more likely to be targeted.
