FFS (Female Free Speech) Friday honors women and girls who are speaking out about the harms that “gender identity” poses to women and girls as a sex class. FFS Friday posts are free and shareable. If you would like access to content that delves deeper into the movement to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls and to stop the abolition of sex, please consider a paid subscription.
I do my absolute best to use this space to amplify the voices of women who are just starting to find their voices in order to speak out about “gender identity” and those who are less well known. I don’t tend to focus on women who are already well-known for their advocacy on this topic. Nonetheless, today’s FFS Friday honors J.K. Rowling, who is probably the most famous leftist woman in the world to take a stand in support of women’s sex-based rights.
So to those screaming 'bigot' and 'fascist' at me, you should know two things. Firstly, I'm completely indifferent to your disapproval, as I'd have thought you'd have realised by now. Secondly, and far more importantly, the only thing more harmful to your cause than your pseudo-religious belief in gender identities is your astounding, self-righteous arrogance.
I was astonished to open X this morning to find that J.K. Rowling had posted my open letter to Kamala Harris from this past August, in which I asked the Vice President to say out loud at the Democratic National Convention that a woman is an adult human female and a lesbian is a female homosexual. I asked her to say that sex is real and that it matters, that it is immutable and no man is ever a woman. I asked her to apologize to women and girls for the utterly embarrassing letter she sent to Dylan Mulvaney (on White House stationery, no less) celebrating his “365 days of girlhood.”
My letter to Harris included this:
Just like the vast majority of America, you know that the word “women” means adult humans who are female — and you know that the difference between women and men matters.
So why is it that (apart from your advocacy for abortion rights, which I support enthusiastically) you and other Democrats are leaving it to the GOP to stand up for women’s hard-won and extremely popular sex-based rights? Why allow Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to be the voice of reason questioning a federal judge who sent a convicted rapist to a women’s prison? Why let former President Donald Trump reap applause at the Republican National Convention by guaranteeing an end to men in women’s sports?
The Democratic Party, yourself included, handed them these talking points.
Ms. Rowling’s tweet of the letter said, “A letter leaders of left wing parties in Europe should read, too.”
Later this morning, she posted the following:
I wrote the words below in April, about the UK left, and I'm retweeting them today for the benefit of some of the numbskulls in my mentions.
Women like me, and there are a lot of us, aren't and never have been far-right. We simply want the left to wake the hell up, because we're watching it do its utmost to alienate people it used to represent.
I'm not saying Trump's win was down to the gender stuff - I'm not an American voter, so can't judge. In any case, the Labour Party won the last UK election and they've embraced gender identity ideology whole-heartedly (although they won against a Tory government so enfeebled and unpopular it would have been miraculous if they hadn't, and their popularity since gaining office has plummeted.)
What I do know is that millions of women in the UK and across the developed world are extremely angry about men in women's sport, men in women's jails and the erosion of single-sex spaces. Parents are angry at being demonised because they don't want their troubled kids to undergo irreversible medical treatments of extremely questionable benefit. People are sick to the back teeth of being bullied and threatened for refusing to embrace an elitist, academia-generated ideology that's having severe real world consequences.
Large swathes of the left continue to be threatening and abusive to anybody who resists their attempts to impose ideological language or bully them out of wrongthink. Leftist activists jeer and sneer at erstwhile female allies for the crime of believing biological sex is real and matters. And leftist leaders still appear more interested in sucking up to gender activists than - to take a topical example in the UK - female nurses whose crime is not wanting to undress in front of a fully intact male.
These are the words she wrote in April, to which she was referring in her post:
At this point, I have no idea what it will take for the left, globally, to own its mistake. I do know that I have done my absolute best to warn the U.S. Democratic Party leadership of what was coming if it didn’t change course. And here we are.
Ms. Rowling, if you are reading this, thank you so much for all you have done for women and girls all over the world. Today’s FFS Friday is for you.
Brava, brava. So timely, and every word from both of you is 🔥🔥🔥 And of course there was Rowling’s first, glorious shot heard round the world:
Dress however you please.
Call yourself whatever you like.
Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
Live your best life in peace and security.
But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?

J.K. Rowling is one of the greatest feminist leaders of all time.
The fact that so many women who identify as "feminists" revile and threaten J.K. Rowling is one of the many Orwellian signs that the left has devolved into madness.
