Today’s FFS Friday celebrates Jamie Reed. In 2023, The Free Press published a piece by Jamie, who blew the whistle on the clinic in Missouri where she previously worked. It was titled, “I Thought I Was Saving Trans Kids. Now I’m Blowing the Whistle.” These days, she’s being quoted in reports by the federal government and in the likes of NBC. Jamie is a fearless warrior for women and girls and for lesbian and gay young people.

As a named whistleblower in the report, and as a lesbian myself with insider knowledge of this field, I wholeheartedly agree with the conclusions.
Gender medicine has been gay conversion therapy since the beginning. The HHS review shares that history and concludes the practice raises ‘serious justice-related concerns’ because of the overrepresentation of LGB youth among patients. As a lifelong Democrat, I believe it is high time for bipartisan support to acknowledge the findings of this report.
On May 1, the Department of Health and Human Services published a report titled, “Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices.”
The LGB Courage Coalition, which Jamie co-founded, announced that “[t]his landmark assessment aligns the U.S. with Europe’s evidence-based approach to pediatric gender care, prioritizing science over ideology.”
The report was covered by NBC, and I have to say that in my ten years of fighting for women’s sex-based rights and for the material reality of sex, I found the coverage to be surprisingly unbiased. It begins, accurately:
The Department of Health and Human Services released a review on Thursday that found that the quality of evidence regarding the effects of transition-related care for minors “is very low,” and that, as a result, many U.S. doctors have managed to unintentionally “fail their patients” by providing them with such care.
“A central theme of this Review is that many U.S. medical professionals and associations have fallen short of their duty to prioritize the health interests of young patients,” the conclusion of the 409-page report states.
This is all true.
Article VII of the Democratic Women’s Declaration concerns the protection of the rights of children. It states:
Medical interventions aimed at the “gender reassignment” of children, i.e., “gender affirming care” by the use of puberty suppressing drugs, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries do not serve the best interests of children. Children are not developmentally competent to give full, free, and informed consent to such medical interventions, which carry a high risk of long-term adverse consequences to the physical and psychological health of children, including sterility, loss of sexual function, disease, and premature death.
Accordingly, all U.S. states should prohibit the use of such medical interventions on children.
In its refreshingly unbiased coverage, NBC quotes Jamie as saying:

Jamie probably has no idea how many lives she has changed; how could she? All I know for sure is that last year, a young woman named Céline Calame published her personal account titled, “A year later, Jamie Reed’s whistleblowing has changed one woman’s life” on the page of the WDI USA Desisted and Detransitioned Women’s Caucus. Céline is a young woman who once thought she was male, went on testosterone, and had a double mastectomy. She says:
Heading home from work one day in February 2023, I stopped to look at the newspaper stand, where a headline about Jamie Reed blowing the whistle on “gender medicine” at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital caught my eye. As I read the article, it shook me to my core how much I related to each and every line. I myself had used the phrase, “Would you rather have a dead daughter or a living son?” on my mother, a phrase I had heard online, a phrase apparently recited by medical professionals to distraught parents. I was horrified to realize I was not the only one who had gone down this path as a minor.
It was happening upon Jamie’s 2023 article in The Free Press that persuaded Céline to drop the facade and accept herself as a woman.
I personally had the pleasure of driving with Jamie from the airport in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Peterborough, to attend a town hall with New Hampshire Democratic Representative Jonah Wheeler in March. We had a delightful time.
Cheers, Jamie, and well done. Thank you for all you have done. I have a feeling that women, including many young lesbians, will be thanking you for a long time. Today’s FFS Friday is for you.
"As a lifelong Democrat, I believe it is high time for bipartisan support to acknowledge the findings of this report."
I don't know how many times we have to say this to our Democratic politicians before they stop lying about all of it.
I recently peaked nearly all the older women in my local painting group. Someone mentioned women's sports, so I took the opportunity to say that men don't belong in them, and the others gathered around to agree. I explained that this is happening to all girls' and women's rights--which they mostly had no idea about--and encouraged them all to contact their Representatives and our Massachusetts Senators.
Someone said, "Elizabeth Warren would never go against women's rights."
I said solemnly, "Oh, yes. She. Would."
Another agreed, "She's all-in on the transgenderism thing."
When the first woman waffled, I said, "Please contact her and tell her what you want from her. PLEASE."
If Elizabeth Warren told the truth to her constituents about her stand on transgenderism, she'd instantly peak all of them.
Politicians MUST be held accountable to their voters.
Stellar, stellar choice, and 💯💯💯 to this: “I have a feeling that women, including many young lesbians, will be thanking you for a long time.” This old lesbian will, too.
