Actually I had heard of some cases but there is also a lot of keeping quiet about dodgy things in prisons eg the absence of toilet facilities in some prisons leading to untreatable levels of hepatitis etc . I think a lot of what goes on might be protected by the 'Official Secrets Act ' which covers a multitude of horrors . The UK isn't a truth respecting country and we are all subjects and not citizens so don't have many rights .

If the policy of placing men who "identify as" women in women's prisons were put to a popular vote in the states where this is being done, would a majority of the voters approve? It is difficult to believe they would. Any fence-sitters would be surely repelled by the magnitude and nature of the men's crimes.
I hope sex realist activists are mounting legal and political challenges to this disgraceful practice. Adult men generally make quite repulsive women. That and the repugnance over the presence of male prisoners in women's facilities make this a much less appealing cause for nice bougie trans allies than "Trans Kids!®"
Prisons are another front in the genderist assault on sex where society suffers when gatekeeping is abolished. In an ideal world, any male inmate who identifies as a female and seeks a transfer to a women's prison would need to be evaluated by qualified experts in order to determine whether the claim is persistent, insistent and consistent over time or whether it is a ploy to move to a less harsh environment and, perhaps, to gain access to potential victims.
