I’m introducing a new series called Female Free Speech Friday (FFF). Every Friday, I will endeavor to post a story about a female warrior who exercises her right to free speech to speak out for women and girls as a sex class. Today’s story is about Christina Goeke, who recently testified in opposition to a bill in Colorado to permit convicted sex offenders to change their names (and thereby obscure their sex) on legal documents. The bill later passed.
This post is being sent to all subscribers to this Substack and is free and shareable. If you would like access to content that delves deeper into the movement to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls and to stop the abolition of sex, please consider a paid subscription.
Christina’s (@goeke_christina on X) testimony is available here:
Transcript:
Christina: [testifies for two minutes about the dangers to women and children of allowing convicted sex offenders to change their names on legal documents], then: “This law is named after Mr. Duane, who has given himself ‘Tiara.’”
Mr. Duane (in audience): [throws up hands]
Chair: [bangs gavel]
[unintelligible]
Christina: “Are you going to tell me that I cannot speak truthfully now? I must lie in order to speak? I will not tell a lie. That’s a man and his name is Duane Powell.”
Chair: “And I’m telling you, Ms. um [stumbles through the pronunciation of Christina’s last name, which Christina had already clarified], um, that, um, … as we stated, … [pause] …”
Christina: “Go ahead, tell me.”
Chair: “As we stated, there will be no misgendering or deadnaming …”
Christina: “I do not respect this at all because that would force me to lie, and I will not lie about someone’s sex.”
[pause]
Christina: “Do you want to infringe on my free speech? Because this is my time. You are violating my First Amendment rights if you tell me that I cannot call a man a man. How can I advocate for women if I can’t define what a woman is?”
Chair: “Welcome. Thank you for being here. If you would like to proceed with the remainder of your time, you certainly can. You have 24 seconds remaining.”
Christina: “Okay. Mr. Duane had admitted …”
Chair (interrupting): “Again [bangs gavel repeatedly] …”
[unintelligible over gavel-banging]
Christina: “he is a felon trying to change his name and trying to hide the fact that he is male.”
Chair: “Thank you.”
Christina: “A felon with a sex-crime history should not be allowed to change his name.”
Chair: [bangs gavel]
Staffer: [cuts Christina’s mic]
Chair: “Have a good day. Have a good day. Thank you.”
Go Christina. One of these days, women will be able to speak freely without gavel-banging about issues that concern us as women and girls as a sex class. Until then, keep speaking, warriors!
Happy Friday and have a great weekend.
May I suggest this be called "FFS Friday"?
Once again, the First Amendment doesn’t apply to women.
