In 2022, I finallyI became furious enough with the Democrats over this to start voting straight Republican, which I will continue to do until the Democrats come to their senses. I'm not holding my breath.
Excellent article, Kara! Much appreciated! Your hard work, and that of many others IS going to turn the tide on this absolute nonsense! I just stumbled upon the work of Erin Friday, a Democratic woman and lawyer whose daughter was drawn into this hideous cult and has desisted in large part because of her mother's persistence. Erin formed a support group for parents of children ensnared in this trans madness. It is called "Our Duty." Erin was also interviewed by Benjamin Boyce (Youtube). Many others are probably familiar with Erin's work, but maybe not. I like to pass along this info when I can.
Taibbi did a series on Loudon County and an organization called the Equity Collaborative. There’s too much to summarize here, but it’s interesting that this county is once again involved in controversy.
The safety, rights and privacy of biological women and girls is paramount and has been under siege (not only in the US, but in much of the Western world) by the so-called transgender minority. As the tide turns toward reality (and it will), let's keep our eyes on the US Supreme Court, as it has recently received the first major case relating to the issue of "transgendered" students in the sports arena. This case, West Virginia v. B.P.J. , is an emergency request "to the court, asking it to wipe away a lower court decision" that prevents transgender students from participating in sports, a ban implemented by the state in 2021.
The ban on transgender athletes competing in female sports (H.B. 3293) was signed into law, but an injunction was granted in July of 2021 which allowed a then 11 year old biological boy to try out for the middle school soccer team. From what I understand, "B.P.J." was submitted as a "shadow docket," which allows the court to bypass the usual lengthy process of arguments, briefings, etc. that leads up to a final decision. A decision by the court could come quickly.
All of “gender identity” and “transgender” politics is a men’s rights movement intended to objectify women’s bodies and erase us as a class.
First, we have two sexes that consider themselves trans. While trans identified males may upset women the most and get the most attention, the fact remains that trans identified females exist. Trans activists push for the rights of both men and women to be accepted as the opposite sex. To say that "all" trans politics is about men's rights ignores the fact that trans activists also push for the rights of females to call themselves men.
Second, the trans activists have nothing in common with the "traditional" concerns of men's rights activists. The trans activists display no interest in child custody, alimony, marital property distribution, education, conscription, or social safety nets for men.
In short, calling trans activists part of the men's rights movement argument makes no logical sense.
What I see is that trans activists have actively taken control of gay and lesbian organizations. Trans activists label themselves as part of the LGB movement. Trans activists use similar language to gay rights activists such as "transphobe," which is an alteration of "homophobe." It makes more sense to call the trans activists an offshoot of the gay rights movement rather than the men's rights movement.
The transgenderism movement is about benefiting men at the expense of women.
Are there women taking advantage of it? Of course. Some women try to pass as men in order to escape the reality of being women under violent patriarchy--just as some BIPOC try to pass as white and some LGB pass as straight. All oppressed people seek ways out of their oppression.
But whites trying to pass themselves off as BIPOC, or straight people trying to pass themselves off as "queer," or able-bodied people trying to pass themselves off as disabled are all the same as men trying to pass themselves off as women. That's all about oppressors seeking new ways to exploit the oppressed.
I short, calling men's rights different from transgenderism makes no logical sense.
And it certainly makes no sense to call homophobic medical conversion therapy an "offshoot" of gay rights. Transgenderists try to label themselves part of the LGB movement only in order to hide their extreme homophobia from the left.
So, the trans identified women are pushing "men's rights" because they'd rather be men even though they physically are women? And trans identified men are pushing "men's rights" because they are men, even though they desperately want to be women?
Those arguments make no sense. Both cases look like a convenient attempt to smear men and men's rights activists who never previously argued for trans rights. Using that same logic, I could just as easily turn around and call trans a women's rights movement.
The trans community purposefully attached themselves to the LGB movement and became LGBT decades ago. LGB folks allowed and even encouraged that to happen. The LGB community doesn't get to dismiss that attachment and ignore that it existed now that it's become inconvenient.
Trans activism is an offshoot of the gay rights movement, not the men's rights movement.
@Chris & Eleganta - I see what both of you are saying. I would articulate it as such: the way that trans activism is playing empirically in the world is that male optionality and male entitlement are being expanded at the expense of females. Examples: (1) trans women reduce their physical risk by transferring from men’s to women’s prisons. Trans men on the other hand increase their physical risk by transferring from women’s to men’s prisons. (2) Trans women will rank higher on the women’s sports teams than on the men’s sports teams. Trans men will rank lower on the men’s teams than on the women’s teams. (3) From what I’m reading, trans women who are attracted to women are encroaching much more aggressively on lesbian spaces than male-attracted trans men are on gay men’s spaces. The broad pattern seems to benefit males to the disadvantage of females, including trans men.
I understand everything you mentioned. While I don't like the idea of women identifying as men in my changing room or the changing room of my boys, I can't state that I'm physically threatened by them.
Still, the trans activist arguments cover both men and women equally. They cover women in men's changing rooms. They cover women in men's prisons. They cover women in men's sports.
While women are injured by these arguments more than men, that does not magically turn those arguments into men's rights arguments. Actual men's rights arguments cover topics that trans people don't care about. Trans arguments cover topics that actual men's rights groups don't care about. In fact, calling these arguments men's rights is cleverly insulting to the trans community since it refers to trans identified men (aka trans women) who desperately don't want anything about themselves to be associated with men.
Further as a regular man, I find this whole line of argument insulting towards myself. The supposed rights being argued aren't for me. They're for trans people. You know, trans people who have allied themselves with the rest of the LGBTQIA++ crowd.
@Chris - your point is well taken. This example is a good illustration: Dylan Mulvaney, the trans identified male who documented himself as a little girl on YouTube videos, routinely referred to girl’s genitals as “Barbie pockets.” I honestly can’t imagine that an adult man who is not trans identified would get away with making up offensive nicknames for girls genitals as Mulvaney did. Mulvaney went on to get a sit down interview with Biden about trans rights, and two corporate sponsorships as well, one with Ulta Beauty and the other with Tampax (of all companies).
You make some really good points Chris. I’ve always thought it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to view the trans nonsense, in its entirety as a benefit to mens’ rights. Maybe to those weird men who wish to be women, and this subsume womanhood in that way. But not for the vast majority of men- they don’t benefit.
Telling Everyone Real Facts is another TERF definition. I’m furious at the Democratic Party management as well. Most Dems don’t do gender identities, just the corporate management. What a destructive mutilation cult. Thanks for your work on behalf of women and girls. With women like you leading this resistance, we’re bound to win this war! ☮️❤️🐾
Yes , exactly, Tumble Bug! What’s also infuriating is seeing the same “arguments” in favor of “gender affirming” care - that it is upheld by the APA, AMA, and all the usual associations. These agencies are NOT following any science but are propaganda machines! The Europeans have it right now in their realization that all of this has been a a sham!

Tired of explaining reality to adults whose children are being groomed by pedophiles, psychopaths and perverts.
TERF? Tired of Explaining Reality to Fools? I prefer Tired of Explaining Reality to Fuckwits.

Overall, I agree with the article.
I disagree with this one sentence:
