What a week! 2.0

On Tuesday, I published a piece called “What a week!: And it’s only Tuesday.” Things have not slowed down in the days since then.

The following things all happened today, May 1:

• The Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee voted to pass HB 1312, “Legal Protections for Transgender Individuals” in the wee hours of the morning. As I explained in a post from early April titled “Colorado is Rocky Mountain High on Gender,” “Colorado seems set to out-California California when it comes to enshrining gender woo in state law. That’s no small feat.” This development is bad news, but Rich Guggenheim, Legislative Director of the group Gays Against Groomers, explains why it’s not all gloom and doom.

• The Department of Health and Human Services published a report titled, “Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices.” From what I can tell, this is very good news.

• We got the amazing news that football (soccer for us Americans), netball, and cricket will all be separated by sex in the UK henceforth. Well done, TERF Island!
