On October 14, I posted this about the Dana Rivers trial. That post is free and shareable. As most readers know, this case concerns the brutal murder of Charlotte Reed, her wife Patricia Wright, and their son Benny Wright by a man (who claims to be a woman) called Dana Rivers (born David Warfield).
In that post, I explained the background of the case and provided some details about how I expected the trial to go. I also said this:
The case has (finally) received some recent media attention here and here. My understanding is that both outlets intend to follow the trial next week and to continue reporting. I really hope that they do.
The reason that I felt somewhat optimistic that both reporters would continue to follow the trial is that both of them told me explicitly that they would.
They didn’t.
On November 16, I posted this, which is also free and shareable. It explains the experience of sitting through the closing arguments and the verdicts (guilty on three counts of murder in the first degree and one count of arson, plus some special circumstances).
I have done my best to track all updates in the case on my website here.
This post will provide some in the weeds details of the events leading up to the insanity phase of the trial, which is currently scheduled to start on Monday.
