The NHS is shutting down its gender identity clinic for children after a damning review found that it failed vulnerable under-18s

The title of this post is the introductory sentence of this non-paywalled article from The Times announcing that the Tavistock Centre (also knows as the Tavistock Gender Identity Development Service, or GIDS) has been ordered to close by the spring of 2023. This is a big deal. Tavistock has, for years, been rushing children into life-altering medical “treatments” that cause serious psychological and physical harm.
The same is happening in the U.S. There are hundreds of clinics all over the country that administer so-called puberty blockers (which are FDA-approved for treating precocious puberty but are not FDA-approved for any other purpose) to children, often within hours or days of said children appearing at the clinic.
A U.K. feminist named Tish has done an extensive amount of research into Tavistock’s practices. Tish is the mother of a son who is gay and who struggles with matters of sex and gender. Tish is fighting hard to save her son from the horrors of medically unnecessary and harmful chemical and hormonal “treatments.” She talks about all of this publicly on her Twitter feed. If you’re on Twitter, I highly recommend her for a follow.
I often say that we need to celebrate every win in the fight against the abolition of sex, no matter how small. That’s true, but we need to celebrate the big wins too. This is a big one.
If you haven’t, please consider signing the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights. You can find the U.S. chapter of Women’s Declaration International here.
