Speaker's Corner - Bristol
June 19, 2022
This post is free and shareable. If you want to be among the first to see content that delves deeper into the movement to fight for the sex-based rights of women and girls, please consider a paid subscription.
As most readers probably know, U.K. women’s rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen has been leading women’s speaking events at Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, London, for several years now. I had the honor of speaking there on International Women’s Day in March 2020.
Since then, she has been traveling all over the U.K. to host Speaker’s Corner events. She even came all the way to D.C. to do one at the White House this past March.
Earlier today, she did one in Bristol, where a bunch of extremely brave women spoke out, in the face of some of the most vicious misogynist violence that I have ever seen (and I have seen quite a bit). You can watch the video of the entire event here.
The purpose of this post is to share just a few examples of what happened in Bristol earlier today, for U.S. readers who may not know, and to highlight that this is what the movement to abolish sex IS. It is not a civil rights movement to protect a marginalized group of people. It is a vicious misogynist attack on women and girls. Anyone who supports it supports this:
After the women left the event, this happened:
Later, when the women tried to go to a pub for some food and drink, this occurred:
These are angry, vicious men, shouting obscenities at and physically attacking women, and trying to shut down women’s speech, while screaming “trans rights are human rights” and calling women “dinosaurs” who are going to “die out.” Article 4 of the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights reaffirms women’s rights to freedom of opinion and freedom of expression. Yet as far as I could tell, despite all of this, the police did little to intervene and did not make any arrests.
“Gender identity” is misogyny, plain and simple, and these men put theirs on full display in Bristol today.
If you haven’t, please consider signing the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights. You can find the U.S. chapter of Women’s Declaration International here.
