"Metamorphosis?" How so? No one ever explains.

This post is available to paid subscribers only. As always, thank you for your generous support, which makes it possible for me to continue fighting for the sex-based rights of women and girls.
My main objective this weekend is to pour through this 700-page document laying out the U.S. Department of Education’s proposed amendments to the current Title IX regulations (i.e., its plans for shredding the rights of women and girls in the educational arena).
I had not intended to read Politico Europe’s recent hit piece on J.K. Rowling because I assumed (rightly, it turns out) that it would be just another example of efforts to paint all opposition to “gender identity” as “right wing.” But when I came across this backstory by former Guardian journalist Suzanne Moore (who also features in the Politico piece), I decided to take a break from the monotony of regulatory analysis to see what was going on (Moore has given me permission to link to her piece here).
All of this made me think about the political strategy of painting the leftist feminist critique of “gender identity” as “right wing.” The assertion is typically that women (and men, but usually women) who criticize “gender identity” have “metamorphosed” from being adherents to the political left into becoming right wing demagogues. However, evidence of this ever actually happening is never provided, because none exists.
I’ll share some thoughts about all of this here.
