I have been working for weeks on a post about a recent Fourth Circuit ruling concerning the applicability of the Americans with Disabilities Act in cases involving people with diagnoses of  “gender dysphoria.” It’s hard work and it’s taking longer than I thought to finish that post, so I thought that for today, I would take a break and talk about British pop stars and their pronouns instead. 

More specifically, one “queer” British pop star (she/her, thank you very much) and her (largely unsuccessful) attempts to navigate Twitter’s pronoun landmines over the past couple of days.

Here’s what happened, as best as I can tell.
