Hillary Clinton just (indirectly) said that "trans" can't be a priority for the Dems

This is a free and shareable post. If you want to be among the first to see posts that delve considerably deeper into the movement to abolish sex and the movement to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls, please consider a paid subscription.
For purposes of this post, please set aside whatever you think about Hillary Clinton. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat, Republican, or otherwise. If you’re a Democrat, I don’t care if you’re a Hillary Democrat, a Bernie Democrat, or otherwise. I don’t care whether you love her or hate her or are somewhere in between. None of that is the point of this post.
The point is …
Hillary just signaled, in this Financial Times piece, that “the transgender debate” cannot be a priority for the Democrats in this election cycle. That’s significant.
Here is how the exchange with Financial Times associate editor Edward Luce went down:
Luce:
Democrats seem to be going out of their way to lose elections by elevating activist causes, notably the transgender debate, which are relevant only to a small minority. What sense does it make to depict JK Rowling as a fascist?
Clinton:
We are standing on the precipice of losing our democracy, and everything that everybody else cares about then goes out the window. Look, the most important thing is to win the next election. The alternative is so frightening that whatever does not help you win should not be a priority.
She easily could have, instead, virtue signaled about the importance of protecting “gender identity” in the law. She didn’t.
Some will respond to this post with: “It’s too late for the Democrats to walk any of it back. They’re too entrenched.” Entirely possible.
Some will say, “Too little, too late. They’ve already gone too far.” Fair enough.
Still others will say, “They’ll just put it on hold and bring it back later.” This is undoubtedly true. That’s why we keep fighting.
There are two reasons I think this is significant:
Democratic insider politicos are surely talking amongst themselves. In fact, I have reason to know that they are, which I am not at liberty to share. If she thinks this, surely others at the top think this too.
When Luce mentioned “the transgender debate” and asked if it makes sense to “depict J.K. Rowling as a fascist,” Clinton did not miss a beat in responding. Anyone unfamiliar with this issue would ask something like “What is ‘the transgender debate?’” and “Who on earth is depicting J.K. Rowling as a fascist and why?? That makes no sense!” There is nothing in the piece to suggest that she asked any of these questions. That means that she knows exactly what’s going on, and her response to his question is an informed one.
I don’t know what’s going to happen in November or in 2024. I have friends who hope the Democrats can still turn the ship around and friends who hope they get trounced because of this issue, among others (that includes many lifelong liberals).
I only know that it’s about to get pretty interesting.
