Happy Fourth of July
July 5, 2022
Notwithstanding the title of this post, I know that today is the 5th. I titled it that way because, in case anyone missed it, yesterday was a GREAT day for the movement to protect women’s sex-based rights (at least on Twitter), and today continues to deliver.
As I have mentioned here before, one day in 2018, at a conference in Toronto, a conservative woman looked me right in the eye and said “It’s going to be the TERFs who save us all.” She was right.
The first hint I got that something might be happening yesterday was when Bette Midler tweeted this:
I didn’t know it at the time, but just a half hour before that, this video surfaced of Macy Gray saying “"Just because you go change your parts, doesn't make you a woman, sorry."

Within a few hours, this was trending:
Earlier today, J.K. Rowling went even further on Twitter by supporting Macy Gray:
For anyone who doesn’t know, India Willoughby is a U.K. man who claims to be a woman.
Within a few hours of that, all three of these were trending:
In short, it has been a great couple of days. Keep going!
