Today’s FFS Friday celebrates Kristin Zebrowski, a volunteer with Women’s Declaration International USA (WDI USA), who serves on WDI USA’s State Legislative Advocacy Team, Black Women’s Caucus, and Anti-Pornography Working Group. On April 21, she reminded us all on X that two years ago on that day, J.K. Rowling shared WDI USA’s Black Women’s Caucus Statement Against Gender Ideology, which she helped write.
Gender ideologues employ the “forced-teaming” tactic against Black women in order to shame us into being work mules for their campaign of male sexual privileges that they call “transgender rights.” While these efforts are masked as progressive and inclusive concepts, gender identity ideology is actually intrusive and harmful to women, and uniquely so to Black women.
I have had the privilege of knowing Kristin for several years, since she joined WDI USA as a volunteer, and I know that she works very hard for women and girls as a sex class, often behind the scenes.
In 2023, the WDI USA Black Women’s Caucus put out its excellent Statement Against Gender Ideology, which begins:
We, the members of the Black Women’s Caucus of Women’s Declaration International USA, believe that it is crucial for Black Women to denounce gender identity ideology. This ideology promotes the idea that sex is nothing more than a social construct and that an individual can choose to *be* a man or a woman regardless of her or his sex.
It is an incredible statement that everyone should read. Radical feminists are often accused of being racist for fighting for the sex-based rights of women and girls (all women and girls). We are told that demanding single-sex spaces is akin to the odious system of Jim Crow racial segregation. But it’s a lie. The truth is that so-called “gender identity” is an affront to all women and girls, including (and in many ways, especially) to Black women and girls.
Kristin was on the team that wrote the statement, which J.K. Rowling posted on X a few days after it was published, prompting an unprecedented spike in hits to the WDI USA website.
Kristin has also been active on WDI USA’s State Legislative Advocacy team, which has acted on an unprecedented number of bills this year, all advancing the sex-based rights of women and girls. On April 19, WDI USA posted that the SLA team had a record-breaking week, with 25 bills acted on, up from its previous record of twelve in one week.
You can find Kristin on X at @peachyradfem. I highly recommend her Substack, The Peachy Perspective. Kristin’s references to peaches in her social media handles refer to the fact that she lives in Georgia. However, she also tells me that she’s originally from South Carolina, as she says, “the real peach state, where the peaches are more plentiful and of the best quality! :)”
Kristin, thank you so much for all your hard work advancing the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights throughout US law and policy, and for fighting to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls. Today’s FFS Friday is for you.
I hope you send this to Jonah Wheeler. The fact that a young Black man is being bullied by white men for promoting women's rights *as if they were Jim Crow laws* just makes my blood boil. He's going to need all the support he can get.
Another terrific choice! Thank you Kristin, and thank you Kara for highlighting Kristin’s work!
