FFS (Female Free Speech) Friday honors women and girls who are speaking out about the harms that “gender identity” poses to women and girls as a sex class. FFS Friday posts are free and shareable. If you would like access to content that delves deeper into the movement to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls and to stop the abolition of sex, please consider a paid subscription.
Today’s FFS Friday honors Jennifer Sey, a seven-time member of the U.S. women’s national gymnastics team and 1986 U.S. women’s All-Around National Champion. She is also the founder of XX-XY Athletics, the only athletic wear company that truly stands up for female athletes.
I hope you’ll stand with us.
Because as I’ve discovered, it’s a little less scary when we do it together.
-Jennifer Sey
Given that the world just watched as the International Olympic Committee permitted a man to punch a woman in the head (on air, for sport and entertainment), and the female athlete chose to forfeit the match rather than risk her life, there is no more important time to stand up for female athletes.
And Jennifer is doing just that.
From the XX-XY Athletics website:
For women to be recognized as champions and to simply be afforded the chance to compete on an even playing field — and avail themselves of all the vast educational and developmental opportunities that competing in sports provides — girls' and women’s sports need to remain for girls and women only. We’ll be here defending them until that happens.
I hope you’ll stand with us. Because as I’ve discovered, it’s a little less scary when we do it together.
-Jennifer Sey
On August 1, XX-XY Athletics launched the XX-XY Athletics Fund and introduced the “Courage Wins” award program. The program “supports and rewards brave female athletes who stand up for women’s sports.” It’s “designed to take monetary cancellation out of the equation” so that female athletes feel more comfortable speaking out.
August 1 is also the day that the U.S. Department of Education’s Final Rule redefining sex to include “gender identity” under Title IX went into effect in the states where it has not been blocked.
Women are under attack from all directions. The time to speak up is now. Jennifer never wavers in her commitment to women and girls as a sex class, and I’m sure she never will.
Jennifer, today’s FFS Friday is for you.
And this is why, after 50 years of being a Democrat, I no longer consider myself a "progressive." I don't know what that word means anymore. How is a system-wide assault on logic, material reality, and specifically the female sex itself, any kind of progress? Why are progressive feminist women unable to approach this topic, and the topic of men in women's prisons, with the same zeal they have for abortion and rape? And why couldn't progressive women predict the outcome in advance, using basic common sense?
Where are Harris, Warren and AOC today? Where is our #ME TOO and "I'M WITH HER" moment? As Karine Jean-Pierre would say: "Which HER are we talking about? It's complicated."
I am beyond exasperated at the vast cadre of women who simply don't trust their eyes anymore. Of the many disorientating things the success of Queer Theory has advanced this has to be the most insidious.
Why do so many need to consult a biologist in our new brave world least they offend? If I've ever been wrong in 65 years in attributing the correct sex to any human older than 2 years I'm not aware of it. So if I am wrong trusting my eyes that Iman Khelid is male I feel comfortable that it is an acceptable failure rate to get one wrong in 65 years and not be embarassed.
