Evie, thank you so much for being on the frontlines. I love your writing. We need more role models like you: young, same-sex attracted women who are confident in and comfortable with their sex. I wish I could introduce you to my daughter who, sadly, is convinced that she is a cute straight boy instead of the magnificent young lesbian she really is. Outside our home she is in a 100% affirmative environment. The only lesbians in her world (i.e., parents of her peers at school) have drunk the Kool-Aid.
I planned all summer to attend the pie social for DIAG and ma4women. However, a few days before the date, we were notified that the gender-stereotype enforcement mob had learned of out location and intended to come terrorize us. As a survivor of sexual assault, I can't face threats of violence from men, so I had to bow out.
When I learned later what happened, I was horrified at how close I'd come to being given nightmares and traumatized for life, just for eating pie with other leftist women.
I'm pretty sure the Renée quoted is a woman I've met. Calm, grounded, imminently sensible and very kind, always wanting to reach out to the other side to talk things through, she is the last person you'd expect to be terrified.
That's how bad it was.
As Beeswax says: TERFs are the suffragettes of the 21st century.
Yay Evie! You go girl! And thank you Kara for highlighting her in FFS Friday spotlight. 💙. Although I am heterosexual, like Evie I was a major tomboy growing up. Into sports and not very girly. I thank God every day that I grew up when I did and was allowed to be who I was without being fast tracked to medicalization because I didn’t fit into a gender conforming role. I have said it so many times it’s ridiculous, but the openly homophobic and misogynistic nature of the transgender cult is mind boggling.
Thanks for highlighting a fine 21st Century Suffragette! That a wristband with XX is considered harassment and oppressive is just WTAF ludicrous. Unfortunately it's par for the course these days. Crazy, but we must continue to point out that biology is not hate and keep on keeping on in this fight.

Great letter.
