FFS (Female Free Speech) Friday honors women and girls who are speaking out about the harms that “gender identity” poses to women and girls as a sex class. Thanks so much to Amy Sousa (@KnownHeretic on X) for a lovely post appreciating the series.

Today’s FFS Friday celebrates Arwen Becker, who is working on a book to amplify the voices of women who are speaking out about the invasion of men and boys into sports that are meant for women and girls. You can find her here.
These aren't just stories of injustice—they are about how adversity forges incredible strength and resilience, while also serving to preserve this moment in women's history.
Arwen is a former Division I volleyball player, lifelong athlete, national speaker, and the author of two books. She says that she “built and sold a thriving 23-year retirement planning firm in 2023, specializing in women’s finances.”
And now she’s publishing another book in a series titled She Handled It.
The book “highlights women/girls who’ve faced major backlash for speaking out publicly against men in women’s sports and spaces, and most importantly, how the difficulty made them stronger!”
Arwen says:
These aren’t just stories of injustice—they are about how adversity forges incredible strength and resilience, while also serving to preserve this moment in women’s history.
It features some big names in women’s sports!
The book features powerhouse voices like Riley Gaines (NCAA swimmer and leading advocate), Payton McNabb (the high school volleyball player whose life-altering injury sparked national awareness), Jen Sey (XX-XY Athletics founder), and Nancy Hogshead (Olympic gold medalist and Champion Women founder) and Tish Hyman (musician and future LA mayor!). It also includes 35 other courageous women, from a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star fired for defending girls sports publicly, to 16-year-olds targeted by Antifa simply for sharing their stories from the stage. Each has endured fierce backlash, cancellation and threats—yet stood firm. Their testimonies reveal adversity’s positive power: forged strength, deepened faith, and unshakeable resolve.
Arwen, thank you so much for this excellent project. One of these days, history will look back and declare once and for all that the women fighting this have been right this entire time. Until then, we fight. Today’s FFS Friday is for you.

Yet another great choice! Love this series!
