This post is going to all subscribers to this Substack. It is free and shareable.
Today’s post from Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) is a plea to email the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) TODAY to tell them about the Cass Review (if you can’t do it today, that’s okay, please do it when you can!).
The PITT post is here:
They say:
We ask you to participate in an email campaign to the members of the executive committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Sample letter below but please feel free to personalize it with your own story. Send your letter(s) to the member of the AAP executive committee (email addresses list below) and/or to the rest of the committee (email addresses attached). We are hoping to have all letters in by today, May 6, but the more letters, the stronger the message so please send whenever you are able, even if you can’t today. Please cc AAPcampaign@proton.me so a count of the letters sent can be tracked.
Thank you from the editors or PITT.
Their sample letter is extremely thorough and they provide all the email addresses you need.
The letter is written as coming from “a parent of gender dysphoric youth.” If that describes you, feel free to copy and paste the letter in its entirety. If not, feel free to change that part. I’ve confirmed with them that they’re happy for anyone to take this action, parents and non-parents as well.
Let’s make it impossible for the AAP to keep ignoring the Cass Review (if you don’t know what that refers to, you can find it here).
thank-you Kara for amplifying this call for participation. I hope people take the time to send emails.
I sent emails to all of them the other day, and one came back with an automatic reply that if it was urgent, email again today when they get back. Thank you for the reminder!
